The Tide-Weavers
The Tide-Weavers are an independent faction of salvager-scholars who excavate the mist-choked ruins of Greyvast for valuable moon fragments. They sell to anyone Valdenmoor's desperate lords, Pale Dominion priest-mages, Oathbound Remnant scouts and ask no questions about how the buyer intends to use the shards. Neutrality is their trade, and survival their creed. Their leader, Shard-Priestess Lyraea, is a pragmatic former scholar from Greyvast's royal academy who saw the fall coming and chose profit over patriotism. The Tide-Weavers operate from the Crypt of the Moonlit Depths, a partially submerged ruin on the edge of Greyvast's drowned capital that they have fortified into a trading post and research outpost. Their salvager crews known as 'Tide-Runners' are skilled divers, navigators of the perpetual mist, and negotiators who can out-talk or out-fight anyone. But something has changed. In the deepest flooded chamber of Mournwater Keep, Lyraea's inner circle discovered something carved into the bedrock symbols that predate the Celestial Fracture by centuries. They have not shared this discovery. The Tide-Weavers have stopped selling the most potent fragments from the deepest levels. The price of their usual stock has quietly doubled. They are preparing for something.
